Developing Yourself and Others

Huntsville Branch Operations Manager Caleb Bonnette and his mentor Operational Excellence Manager Mark Cusack.

My father, Chris, shares this piece of advice: “surround yourself with talented people who inspire you to better your best each day. This way you can lean on them and learn from them.”

January is National Mentoring Month.

I am grateful for the mentors that I continue to learn from and lean on in my life. Their guidance inspires me to mentor a different group of Lansing Branch Managers each year. Time spent with our branch leaders allows me to share my experiences, as well helps me understand and appreciate different perspectives throughout our company.

At Lansing, achieving excellence in everything we do includes developing yourself and others. Our Mentor Program strives to equip every associate with the knowledge and resources they need to realize their fullest potential. To date, Lansing Achieve, our career growth and development program, includes 41 active mentor pairings throughout different levels of the company.

Asking others for help is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of strength. It is how we grow and develop.

Thank you to all those who take the time to mentor and make a difference in the lives of others.
