The Founder’s Award

One of the annual highlights of our National Meetings is the presentation of the Founder’s Award, the highest honor given to a Lansing associate who has best exemplified the values and spirit of our founder, my grandfather Ted Lansing, throughout a long career.

At this year’s meetings, I was thrilled to recognize Rob Cassada, Lansing’s Vice President of Logistics.

Rob joined Lansing in November 1994. In his 30-year career, he has overseen the relocation of 77 Lansing locations, including eight in 2024, and coordinated countless re-racks and branch remodels.

Each move is unique, requiring Rob to engage the whole Lansing Team – one of our True Blue behaviors. He is thoughtful, adaptive, and committed to completing a move over a weekend, ensuring the new location is ready to give our customers the best possible service on Monday morning.

Rob’s greatest contributions to our business include his passion, consistency, and work ethic. He genuinely reflects the culture and values of Lansing, holding our Mission Statement in the highest regard.  Rob has made a positive impact on countless associates, customers, and suppliers over the years and prides himself on protecting the Lansing brand each and every day.

When I shared the news of this recognition with Rob, he took a moment to share what he conveys to a new associate at Lansing:

“You can’t sit back and let the job come to you. You have to go out and get it. I can’t tell you how often I thank my lucky stars that I get to be part of this organization. There are wonderful people here and it just keeps getting better.”

I am deeply grateful for his extraordinary service and commitment to Lansing.
