How Would YOU Describe LBP?

lansing blog

What three words would you use to describe Lansing? That’s just one of numerous questions posed on a recent survey encompassing a wide range of areas and distributed to both Customers and Associates alike. We wanted to see how we, as a company, are doing overall with our prime mission of being a great supplier partner to our customers, but also how we are doing with regards to providing our Associates with a secure, challenging, and rewarding work environment. I want to take this opportunity to share with you some of the results from those surveys.

When asked how would you describe LBP, customers used most often the words Service, Friendly, Reliable, Professional, and Quality. Our Associates mentioned: Excellence, Family, Professional, Friendly, and Integrity. When listing LBP’s strengths, customers from all of our seven regions emphasized our great people, excellent customer service, and inventory position. These responses are certainly encouraging and demonstrate basically we’re on the right track, not only with our customer relationships, but also in how we are serving our valued team members.

There is definitely room for improvement though. Noted as a key concern was the need to hire more people, as well as improve our training. Another prominent area for growth and improvement was with regards to improving communications and increased marketing investments. Many also noted a desire for technology advancements, such as online payment, order tracking and delivery notification systems. Our management team is focused on all of these concern areas and is dedicating significant time and resources exploring opportunities and developing systems to address them.

I want to personally thank those that participated in the recent survey. It is our firm intent to provide ongoing opportunities for both Customers and Associates alike to share their thoughts, to let us know how we’re doing, and where improvements are needed. Our mission remains constant, as it has from the company’s founding, to provide Respect – Service – and Excellence. I join with my fellow Associates with a great sense of pride in where LBP stands today in its mission, but am even more excited about where we can go from here and what the future may hold.
