For more than six decades, Lansing Building Products has been a family-led company. In 2016, a new chapter unfolded with the retirement of Chris Lansing and the announcement of Hunter Lansing, the third generation, assuming the role of President. Building on the foundation of the company’s well-established reputation and dedicated team, Lansing remains focused on the delivery of superior service and finding new ways to advance technology and exceed expectations.
1947
Ted Lansing was transferred to Richmond by CertainTeed Corporation as their Virginia roofing sales representative.
1955
Ted Lansing began a new roofing supply business, forming a partnership trading as Ted Lansing Supply Company.
1957
The partnership was changed to a corporation in 1957.
1967
Expansion started in 1967 with the opening of the Norfolk, Virginia location and then continued to grow into North Carolina and South Carolina.
1980
Chris Lansing, Ted’s eldest son, was named President of the company following his father's death.
2004
Ted Lansing Building Supply changes its name to Lansing Building Products.
2016
Hunter Lansing, Chris' son, was named President of the company, beginning the third generation of family leadership.
2017
Lansing achieves a major sales milestone, and hits a Half Billion in sales.
2020
Lansing acquires distribution business of Harvey Building Products, expanding reach to 112 branches in 35 states.
Building on its past but always with its eyes on the future, Lansing Building Products will continue to deliver excellence, from the inside out.
